In the Beginning God Created...

Welcome!
I'm so glad you're here!
I have a bit of a different project to share with you this week!

We're continuing to showcase the Woodsy Wonderland Collection over at Heartfelt Creations, and one of the first things that popped into my head when I first saw the collection so many months ago was that it would be perfect to use for illustrating Genesis 1 - The Story of Creation in my journaling Bible!
The beautiful landscape stamps, those gorgeous deer and a few of the other woodsy critters would create such a beautiful scene!  I set about to stamping and coloring and was happy with the result!

Here's how my Bible journal page turned out...

I really enjoyed creating this little scene...and while coloring I had time to think about and reflect on the story of creation.  Isn't it amazing to think that God's imagination is so large...look at all of the different plants and animals He created...and when I see some of them I do indeed know that He has a wonderful sense of humor!  LOL

You'll see that my coloring is not completely perfect...the paper I had behind the Bible page had a slight texture which has shown through, and the gamasol solution does react a tad differently on this thin type of paper which makes blending the colors of the Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils a little more difficult.  (The colors depicted in the pictures here are actually brighter than those on the project due to photo editing...the sky is much more muted and the colors flow together more gently).

Here's a close up of the stamped images...

Have you started a journaling Bible?  I love the time I get to reflect on what I've read while stamping and coloring!  I cannot draw at all....we're talking not a drop of artist's blood in me...so I like to use stamps in my journaling Bible....so if you're like me and you can't draw, be sure to use those stamps in your stash!

Well, that's all for me today...short and sweet!
Christmas is approaching so quickly and it seems that there is a shortage of time these days!
I hope you do have a few extra minutes to stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the amazing array of projects the rest of the team have created for your inspiration!

Until next time...

It's the second Wednesday of the month which means it's new release day with us at Heartfelt Creations!

Have you seen the sneak peeks of the Woodsy Wonderland Collection already?
It's magnificent!

Here's a little about it...

Take an adventure on the path less traveled and lose yourself in an enchanting woodsy wonderland filled with magnificent wildlife, beautiful scenic expanses and delicate field flowers.
Heartfelt Creations invites you to explore the new Woodsy Wonderland Collection.  Step softly as to not spook the peaceful inhabitants or trample the native wildflowers as you set about exploring your surroundings.  Immerse yourself in a stunning paper collection showcasing a beautiful outdoor themed color palette of rushing river blues, orange and yellow sunset hues, grass like greens accented with the softest wildflower whites, deep purples, and posy pinks, pulled together and grounded with dark tree bark browns, sky blues and moss like greens.  Discover charming cottages, babbling brooks, and grassy fields boasting home to majestic deer, chattering squirrels, prancing skunks and frolicking foxes.  Bold stripes and crosshatch patterns will remind you of trampled wildlife trails, creating eye catching backgrounds for the tiny woodland creatures depicted on the varying sizes of premade card panels or within the three extremely detailed and realistic forest themed cling stamp sets which provide the ideal elements for creating your very own woodsy wonderland on your next paper crafting project.  Pair with the coordinating dies to create dimensional forest scenes laden with fallen tree stumps, grassy knolls, darting rabbits, scampering raccoons, decorative butterflies and song filled birds all at play in majestically treed forests!  So, breathe deeply, exhale and allow the beauty of our enchanting woodlands to bring a sense of wonder, calm and peace to your soul as you craft your cares and worries away in the tranquility of our Woodsy Wonderland Collection.

I decided that I wanted to create a masculine project for my first creation with this stunning collection.  Masculine cards are always tricky, but I have to say that with this collection it all came together quickly and with ease!

Here's a peek at my card...

I love love love the deer images, stamps and die cuts in this collection!
We had a corn field across from our house this summer...and now that winter has set in I can look out my living room window and see deer grazing somewhere in that field pretty much any time of the day!  Such beautiful creatures!

Here's a close up of stamped and die cut images I've used on this project...the deer, and the gorgeous trees in the background.

So, my challenge to you if you have already purchased this exquisite collection...or will be...give a masculine card a try!  You will be so impressed with how easy it is with this outdoor and woodsy collection!  Mix and match of few of your Heartfelt Creation collection together with this one and you will come up with even more stunning and unique results!

Be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for more inspiring pieces created by the uber talented design team...they've truly outdone themselves this week!

My Best Friend...

Hello and Welcome!  Happy Wednesday!
How are you doing this morning, afternoon or evening depending on where you're visiting from!
I can't believe that December is coming up so quickly!
Are you ready?  Have you started or finished your Christmas shopping?  Have you started decorating or is that still on your "to do" list?  I sure have found a need lately to add more hours to my day...if only it was a possibility!  LOL

Well, as you all know it's a Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!
I'm back this week with another project with the Pampered Pooch Collection...oh this is fast becoming one of my favorites!  It's just too cute!

Here's my project for this week...

I've trimmed down one of the premade card panels to create a little scene!  I love the image of this pampered pooch in the bath...a task I'm so happy I don't have to do with our pampered pooch...he's an outdoor farm dog so he looks after bathing in the dug out in summer when he feels like it!  LOL

I've colored the stamped image with my Copic Ciao markers, and have done some die cutting with some circular Spellbinders dies to create a spot for the sentiment.  Don't you  just love those dirty paw prints around the sentiment!  I've added some happy daisies with prill centers as a finishing touch along with some Glossy Accents on the bubbles in and around the bathtub as well as on the puppy's nose.  A touch of glitter and the project was complete!  I've created a bunch of dimension by popping up the layers using pop dots.

I hope you've enjoyed today's project share!
Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations blog as well to see the other projects created by the rest of the team...there's a wonderful array of different collections being showcased there today along side the Pampered Pooch Collection!

Until next time...

Black Friday Blog Hop with Heartfelt Creations...

Hello Everyone!
I'm so glad you're here!
I hope you've been enjoying the Heartfelt Creations blog hop...we were so excited to create our projects and put it all together for you!
You should have arrived here from Martine's blog...if by chance you've lost your place along the way, be sure to check out the blog hop list below!

For my project I decided to go with a Christmas theme and chose to use last year's Sparkling Poinsettia Collection!  I thought the foldout card design would look fabulous on a fireplace mantle done in more traditional Christmas colors!

I opted to use the 4.25" x 5.5" black card base for my creation.  I thought it would look stunning paired up with the deep reds, cozy creams and bright whites in the Sparkling Poinsettia Collection!
You'll have to let me know what you think!

Here's how my project turned out...

I'll give you a few more pictures so you can get a good peek at the card opened a variety of ways!

...here's a pic of the first tier...

...opening the first tier allows you to see how the backside has been decorated as well as how the second tier has been designed...

...and as we continue folding the card out...

...you can see that I've done some stamping with some of the cling stamps found within the Sparkling Poinsettia Collection and have also used a premade card panel for the inside of the card where one would write the sentiment...

...here's a closer look at how the back panel of the card has been finished...

...you can see I have done quite a bit of glittering on this card, as well as as some flocking to give the poinsettias the feel of having been snowed on...

...and here is a peek at the card fully opened but from the back of the card...

Of course you will have noticed that I used one of the new decorative border dies to add some fancy edging to my creation!  It adds such visual appeal and elegance...don't you think?
I do hope you've enjoyed what I've shared with you today!

Well, it's that time in the post where we take care of a few housekeeping things so you are aware of what is happening in the blog hop!

Watch this video to see how to create the Sparkling Poinsettia.

Using the edging dies from the Fleur Border Basics die, cut out the pieces of decorative card stock for all sides of the card.  Ink all edges of each piece using a brown colored ink, stamp poinsettia and circular sentiment from the Sparkling Poinsettia Collection onto panels that need a touch of decorating. Adhere to card.  Cut back mat for back card panel from decorative paper as well as a poinsettia illustration panel from paper pack.  Ink all edges using a brown colored ink and adhere to back page of card.   Trim out decorative poinsettia strip, ink all edges with a brown colored ink.  Using the decorative border dies in the Elegant Border Basics Dies, cut out decorative accents for each card tier from black card stock and apply to card base.  Now apply decorative paper matting to all card tiers making sure you have covered front and back of each tier except the backside of the card.  Adhere poinsettia decorative trim strip as shown.  Trim out sentiment from paper collection, ink all edges with brown ink and adhere to second panel as shown.  Trim out candle image from decorative paper sheet and adhere to card above sentiment.   Stamp four inkings of the Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set, and two inkings of the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto white card stock using black ink.  Color using sponge daubers, and then die cut using coordinating dies.  Shape flowers and leaves using deluxe flower shaping kit. Create one large and two small double poinsettias for the front bottom portion of the card, one small double poinsettia for second card tier, one mid sized double poinsettia for third tier and one large and two small double poinsettias for the last card panel.  Adhere to all flowers to card as shown.  Adhere leaves to front and last panel floral clusters.  Next trim out Merry & Bright sentiment and snip into end to create a flag banner.  Ink all edges using a brown colored ink, shape slightly and adhere to card as shown. Using a dries clear adhesive and a fine metal glue tip, apply transparent glitter to all veining on flowers and leaves.  Apply Stickles to poinsettia centers as well as preprinted poinsettia images on decorative papers.  Allow to dry, then add dries white glue and flocking to poinsettia petals to mimic snow.

Doggone...I Missed Your Birthday...

A warm welcome to you...I'm so glad you're here!
I cannot believe it's November...and here in Manitoba, Canada as I sit here and type this we are experiencing 18 degree Celsius weather...it's like spring when we're usually gearing up for bitter cold!
But hey, I'll take it...it's not often you can wear your flip flops here in November!

As you probably already know, today is new release day with us at Heartfelt Creations...and we are so pleased to bring to you the adorable Pampered Pooch Collection!
Do you have a special fur baby that you share your life with?
Well, this newest collection is ideal for documenting life with that special canine!
But don't wait too long to head on over to the online store for your purchase...because I have a feeling this collection is gonna go fast!

Here's a little more about the collection...

There’s nothing better than sharing time with your four legged fur baby, soaking in the adoration found in their bright eyes, the love displayed through their wagging tails and those endless supplies of slobbery kisses!  Whether you’re enjoying the antics of a young energy filled and mischievous puppy, or the relaxed and laid back company of an older furry friend, you are sure to fall in love with the new Pampered Pooch Collection by Heartfelt Creations!  This newest paper collection is filled with adorable fun loving illustrations of heartwarming pooches, their favorite treats, and pretty floral touches all set against beautiful shades of denim blues, grassy greens, chocolate browns and crisp creams.  The four captivating cling stamp sets include charming illustrations of man’s best friends at play, sitting pretty and even causing just a slight paw-full of trouble.  These adorable images have been coupled with a multitude of sentiments perfect for so many different occasions and are ideal for the young and the young at heart!  Cute dimensional pooch themed embellishments such as doggie bone shaped treats, paw prints, collars and of course a collection of fun loving furry friends themselves are easy to achieve when pairing the coordinating cling stamps and die combinations. So relax, get creative and celebrate great memories of canine friends both past and present, create a little something special for that puppy adoring friend who’s going through a “ruff” time, or simply lay back and bask in the joy of life as our wet nosed, fur covered friends do as we share with you the Pampered Pooch Collection…drool not included!

I have been wanting to try my hand at a box card for a long time...the die had been sitting in my craft room and had been unused.  So, I decided this adorable release would be perfect to give it a try!

Here's how my project came out...

I loved this sentiment when I first saw it and thought perhaps a forgotten birthday would be forgiven by presenting such a cute package!

I've colored the images with my Copic Ciao markers, and for the floral accents I've used the Delightful Daisies from the Peacock Paisley Collection.  The box card itself is a Spellbinders die that cuts all the pieces you need to assemble the card base.  I've included the full instructions for this project below if you would like to replicate the project.

Here's a closer peek at the card from a different angle...

And just in case you missed it on Facebook...many of the design team have their very own pampered pooches...and Liz, our social media guru thought it would be fun to share them with you!

Let me introduce you to Thunder...our very own pampered pooch!

Thunder is our "farm" dog...he patrols the property and makes sure that all is right in our little part of the world!  He enjoys long walks without a leash (put one on and he sits right down and will not budge), exercising the cats (sometimes they walk nicely together...at other times he has them jogging), howling with the coyotes at night (until they get to close then he sends them on their way), and he absolutely loves gardening!  (That's right...he tramples down all of the stalks to reap the corn on the cob and eats it, he picks cucumbers and feasts on them all day long...oh and pumpkins, yum yum!)  Oh...and we cannot forget to mention that he is terrified of his namesake...you'll catch Thunder watching the skies for any hint of rain or lightning...and when the thunder rolls...so does Thunder...right onto our front deck trying to get the house door open to let someone know he would like to be let into the garage to wait out the storm!  Lastly, Thunder hates being photographed!  He can be sitting beautifully with the kids and I try to sneak out and take a picture and he's up and running as fast as he sees the camera...and when I do get to snap a pic of him...he firmly believes he must have his tongue sticking out...must be his version of a cheesy grin!  LOL  He's one of a kind...but we love him!

Well, that's it for me today!
Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the other stunning projects the rest of the design team have created for your inspiration and viewing pleasure!

Heartfelt Creations and Creative Embellishments...

Welcome Everyone!
It seems like such a long time since we've visited!

It's another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and this week we're also featuring some of the lovely elements from Creative Embellishments!  I've chosen to use a decorative frame on my creation today along with the Blushing Rose Collection.

Here's my project for this week...

I chose to use one of the flip fold album inserts to create quite a substantial card!
I'll post a few pictures along the way so you can see how the whole thing folds out and what it looks like completely opened!

As I mentioned, I've used the Blushing Rose Collection, as well as the rose stamp and die from the Classic Rose Collection.  As I decided which decorative paper to use, I decided that the blue and purple combination would make a soothing Sympathy card.

Let's take a look at how the card flips open...

The image on the side smaller side panel is a stamped and die cut image from the Blushing Rose Collection that I've colored and added onto the panel.  The other rose images have been fussy cut from one of the patterned papers.

Let's flip the card open even further...

Here you can see I've matted the center of the card using the same patterned paper I've used on the card front!

And here's a full look at the card totally extended...

The panel on the far left has had all of the roses along the bottom and upper corner fussy cut from a piece of patterned paper as well.  The two stemmed roses have been stamped and die cut from the Blushing Rose Collection.

Lastly, here's a close up of the flower cluster on the front of the card...

I've painted and antiqued the chipboard from Creative Embellishments and since I wanted it to be a main focal point on the card I've kept the flower cluster fairly simple starting with a base of foliage, a stamped rose and buds which I've colored blue, shaped and adhered on top of the leaves.  I've then stamped, colored and shaped several small purple flowers that I've shaped to look more like a wild rose.

A touch of sparkle to the flower cluster as well as a few of the preprinted roses on the paper both on the inside and outside of the card and it was complete!

I've included the full instructions for creating this card down below, and enough photos here for you to reference should you like to try to recreate this yourself.

Be sure to pop by the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the rest of the wonderful projects the team have created using the items they incorporated from Creative Embellishments as well.  Always such a diverse collection of projects for every taste and style!

Until next time...
