Autumn Colors

Well, the chill is in the air and I must admit we've turned on the furnace already here in Manitoba, Canada.  The leaves have all turned to those beautiful autumn colors and have started falling.  It's time to pull out those heavy sweaters, fit on the kids winter gear from last year and enjoy the last few days of wearing light jackets.  When I look around at God's creation at the beginning of each new season I have to admit that I am amazed.  Each season brings such beauty!  The new growth in spring, the summer warmth and fun in the sun, the smells and colors of fall, and the sparkling first snowfall...God was pretty creative when he made each season!

And this week at Twist of Faith Card Challenges we have a seasonal challenge for you...

"AUTUMN COLORS"

We are happy to welcome back our sponsor for this challenge...

...who will be awarding our prize winner 5 digis!  Woo Hoo!

I had the treat of working with the digi entitled "Soya Blowing Dandelion".
Here's what I came up with...

Here's a little closer look at the awesome digi...notice the diamond stickles on her wings!

And here' a closer look at the floral grouping and the sentiment!

I spotted a piece of brighter colored patterned paper which I then chose to tone down with some brown ink.  I just loved the flower on it and thought that the digi cut out in a circle for the centre would look nice. I cut out a border from the same piece of patterned paper, inked it to tone down the bright colors again, and adhered it to the bottom of the base card.  I applied a bling swirl along with some paper flowers I cut out with my BigShot and layered them together. I added a rhinestone to each of these flowers after I built them and inked the petals.  I've also added some Recollections and Prima flowers in various orange/peach colors.  I wasn't sure how it was going to look putting mulberry paper flowers and card stock flowers in the same grouping, but I think it came out okay!  Lastly I added a sentiment from a Stamp 'n Up stamp set on an orange colored piece of cardstock and cut out the end to make a banner edge.  The digi itself has been colored with my Tim Holtz Distress Markers, and I've added Diamond Stickles to her wings!  The other night our family was cleaning out the pumpkin patch and I knew that this card with it's autumn colors would look fabulous photographed with some pumpkins in the background...so that's exactly how I photographed it!

So, now it's your turn!  Grab those fall colored papers you have in your craft area and set to work!  Maybe you want to think outside the box and make a fall colored Christmas card...or maybe a beautiful fall colored Sympathy Card.  Whatever you feel inspired to create, be sure to link up with us at Twist of Faith!  Remember that our twist is to add a healing, uplifting, encouraging sentiment or scripture!  I can't wait to stop by and see what you've come up with!

Until next time...
